For this project we have to find an organization to do a project with. When finding a project, we were looking for organizations to make promotional piece of work with them we were looking for organizations such as; arts organisations, charities and public bodies, educational organizations and organizations that hold events.
We were looking for an organization that had a community presences and that did a lot to help the community.
When finding a project we found a possible 3 companies work with;
The first was a project wokring with the Cambridge Arts Picture House, we did work experience for them and they offered to work with us to make a promotional video for their website. This would mean a video about the picture house, and all of the events they hold there.
The second was a project was working with the Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, they want to work with us to take pictures for a poster to promo the hospital.
The project would be to make a poster to promote internships for students looking into medical careers.
The third is to make a promotional video with the Junction, for the Fiver event held at the Junction, and this would also involve making a documentary with SkillSet featuring the work we do in order to promote the creative and media diploma.
The Junction project is definitely the best one as it is not only a promotional video but a documentary as well. Also the Arts Picture House isn't the best idea because our work experience with them didn't go very well, and the Addenbrooke's project doesn't seem like a very good use and test of our skills, this is more of a project for Photography students, we are more skilled in work with promotional videos, like the Junction project. The Junction project is also a good idea for a project as not only is it a promo for their events but a documentary of our own work, which will mean analyzing our own work, also we have not yet done much work involving documentaries and promotional work so this will give a beneficial challenged and skills in areas of work that we have not yet come across.
PROs & CONs of organizations;
Addenbrooke's - working with a hospital is not the best idea for a project due to the size of the organization, it may be hard to keep in contact with them as everyone is really busy, and also when have meetings it may be an issue that the hospital regularly goes on lock-down due to out-brakes of virus'.
Film festival - working with the film festival is not right for us as we are looking to work with an organization that supports or has a lot of input with the local community.
The Junction - The junction is a good organization to work with as it has a large influence on the local community. Also out of working with the Junction, it is giving us the opportunity to work with Skillset on a different project.
